The most comfortable cottages in the lowveld

Arguably our most important drawcard. Windows towards the parking lot are glass tiles. The sides of your deck has latte or stone walls. This means that we can guarantee 100% visual privacy, both in your cottage as well as on all ground floor decks.

There's plenty of lodges offering a private plunge pool, but we are the only lodge in a 50km radius that guarantees 100% privacy on all outside areas!

From your room large glass sliding doors allow a superb view on the mountains. From your deck you've got that same magnificent view, for you to enjoy in all privacy. Your unit is serviced/cleaned before you arrive, and after that once every four days.

"Hold on. Does this 100% privacy mean that we cannot come with a bigger group and enjoy the company of friends?" No, that's no problem either. Our cottages are built along a drainage line, one next to the other. So it's a short walk from one front door to the next. If you and your friends book two neighbouring cottages, you can choose either of your decks to have a braai and enjoy each others company. There's also a double cottage that offers two bedrooms plus a sleeper couch for 2 kids.

All our cottages have a large (6 m2) refreshing plunge pool, with a design that's unique to the area; it has three levels. Apart from the "shoulder height" level and the level that's perfect to sit, it also has a level that's a mere 15cm deep. It measures 2 m2 , so this level is perfect for very young kids to play in (not unattended, obviously), or for you to lay down in. But apart from that, this level also makes our pool heat up faster in the sunlight, which means our pool has less of that "cold sting" in spring and fall.

We provide beach towels, no need to bring those!

All our beds are king size with extra length, available in a double bed or two separate single beds setup. And all have high quality mattresses. Our beds are under large mosquito nets hanging from the ceiling.

Your bedroom is air conditioned, and we use the softest percale high-quality hypoallergenic bed linen. We use mattress protectors as well as pillow protectors.

Nothing more relaxing and heart warming than sitting on your deck and enjoying the sequence of hues in the sky above the mountains. Time for dinner! No South-African accommodation is complete without a decent braai, so obviously we've thought of that too.

Yes, all utensils are there too. Firelighters and briquettes must be pre-ordered before your arrival, if you do not intend to bring those.

Our cottage bathrooms have a large indoor walk-in shower with a view towards the mountains. But in all but the coldest days you can also enjoy your outside (rain-)shower. Built with a little wink at the old bucket showers …but don't worry; ours have hot water.

From some spots in the lowveld, you might be able to see the Drakensberg mountains in the distance. But from our bedroom windows they fill the frame. More precisely; our cottages are right underneath Mariepskop. Our property borders the Mpumalanga province border and thus the Blyde River Canyon Reserve. The view from your cottage is forever unspoilt.

There's so much to see and do in the Hoedspruit lowveld area and the highveld. If you want to experience it all, you'll have to come back a few times. Or stay with us for a month!

Coming from oversees and don't feel like self-driving? No problem! We can come pick you up, and drop you off, at all nearest airports. Or we can arrange transfers to/from any lodge or any place in South-Africa.

Note that our Kruger National Park trips are of the highest standard. You can opt between a closed (SUV) or open safari vehicle (OSV). The owners as well as the guides working for Kruger Cliffs are all FGASA-certified guides with at least 5 years of big-5 experience in the bush.

For any traveler, there's nothing as annoying as finding out something's missing in the kitchen. It's not as if you can pack Champagne glasses or braai utensils in your suitcase, right? It should all be there!

We hear you! And so we made sure that our kitchens are as complete as your kitchen at home. A microwave, a cooking plate with four heaters, a water kettle, a toaster… all appliances you need are there. The list also includes a large fridge/freezer combo, and a dish washer. Because seriously; who wants to do dishes on holiday? The available cutlery and crockery is rather extensive as well. Yes of course there's Champagne glasses and an ice bucket!

All rooms also have the following included; salt, pepper, 15 liter of drinking water, coffee/tea station with sugar and milk, dishwasher liquid, broom, dust pan, dish cloths and tea towels.

Our rooms can be given special romantic attention with rose petals and candlelight. Ask us what we can do!

Our cottages have a dining table indoors, right next to the kitchen counter. So on a windy day or a cold morning, you can always enjoy your meal indoors. However, there's also a dining table outside, in the shade, under a canvas sheet, and we're sure you'll be using that one the most. It can even be used when it rains! Both dining areas have mountain views.

Apart from the large walk-in shower, your bathroom also has double wash basins and a separate toilet. We use only towels of the highest quality!

Bringing the kids? Our cottages have a living room with a double-size bed sleeper couch (140x190cm). There's an overhead fan, and we can install a mozzie net if needed.

Who needs a TV in this day and age? Bring your tablet, laptop or smartphone and surf away! We offer high speed satellite internet with multiple 1gbps access points throughout the lodge.
